got this about a year ago (it was on sale) and it worked fine for awhile
then it started to become very slow especially when deleting files and folders
reformatted the drive in FAT32 and this gave only marginal improvement
since I only use this on Macs then changed the format to Mac OS Extended and now it if snappy for reads and writes

I bought this for my son, who is a high school senior. I never heard a single complaint from my son. When asked, he said it's good.
